In an earlier phase of life I had an extensive orchard.

The last few weeks I have been busy trying to propagate a new species of tree, an earring tree.

The form work of the tree, branches etc was bought from a local opp shop at the right price.

The fruit have taken a deal of work, 90% agate 10% chert all put together with sterling silver. Each pair(fruit) generally between 6 to 8 gm.

As a cabber I have tended to make fairly large cabs maybe I am cured now.

Hope you enjoy this new species

The tree in full sun (its summer here as well as being in the tropics with the sun burning hot)

The tree indoors

Allen, this is awesome!  yes

I have something similar, but it is the real McCoy - an actual tree branch that someone had mounted on a piece of plywood and painted white.  I grabbed it up at a garage sale for pennies, and painted it black, and it now sits at the gift shop holding simple necklaces.  The drawback is it is fragile.  The wood is very brittle and one of these days I'm sure it's going to bust.

I'd love to have a metal one!

Oh what a great concept for displaying your wares.

I am exploring the folded metal (metalwork) in copper ... Could see an impetus to learn to imitate your display. Are there grooves or notches in the leaves ... to keep the display in place?

  Great idea.

Your right Bob, a problem was the earrings sliding off.

I have since glued on small fishing line loops, this allows for 2 earring sets per leaf.

A total of 30 sets.
