Well with "Old Blue Eyes" singing in the background. It was indeed a very good year for me. At least hobby wise goes, it was only one year ago I joined this merry band of rockaholics  Which was a good thing if somewhat dangerous. With all the diferent techniques I was introduced to here from some quite tallented folks. Such as intarsia & stone scales on knives & more contemporary styles for my jewelry. The great folks here & their friendship & encouragement have lead me in directions I hadn't even considered before. This is one great bunch of people. I wish party we could all get together & have one hell of a good Christmas or New Years party (no throwing rocks instead of confettie) party1Although I'm not sure the "civilized world" would ever be the same. Instead of posting all the pictures here of my favorite pieces made this year. I put together an album on photobucket & you can look through it at your leasure & it'll be there & not clog up Georges server space. Thanks George for creating such a great place to share our triumphs & failures. Well with Julie Andrews singing "Some of my favorite things" here's my 2011 in retro. They are all very beautiful in their own right but my all time favorite for this year was number 30 of 37. The one with multiple stones and the shaping and design is so very unique and perfect:)

Happy anyiversary Mike!  Fantastic Album. My favorite is still # 31. Yeah with my first year coming to a conclusion in a few days too, I completely agree; thanks to Georges hard work and all the active participation of members its easy to forget worries of self-doubt and push the boundaries. I for one look forward in eager anticipation where this will lead us to next. Hey Ho, and on we go.........  |

Thanks all these aren't even all the pieces I've done this year. Just representing my favs. & more technicle ones. I'm still rather proud of geting the hinged one done without soldering the whole shootin match together LOL Wow I guess maybe I haven't been sluffing off LOL On top of it all I have stuff in a gallery in Sedona. Now if only some of it would sell LOL

Mike beautiful work! Makes a person gasp, when seeing it all at once. You and Steve inspire me. Did you notice the bail on the fire agate pendant? I would never have done that without seeing Steve and your works. Imitation is the ...........!

Yes making bales from sheet can help to make a more attractive piece. You're doing just fine on your silver. It all comes with experience & the more you do the better you'll get.
