Hi everyone,

I recently made two pendants. Each one is a present for some special person and occasion.

Firstly, a hematite jasper. I made it for my mother in law, as my in-laws recently celebrated their golden wedding.

And the 2nd one is an Ethiopian opal. I bought this stone from Munchen (mineralientage) and made this pendant for Ina. It's a present for her birthday.

I added a very thin layer of Lapis on the back of the cab, to "help" the blue flashes in the opal.

Here she is, proudly wearing it:

Happy birthday, darling!

Thank you for looking,

Adrian

What an interesting and un-usual way of sinking the wrap into the stone.
Never saw it that high in the stone. Works superbly!

Great job on both!

I love the hematite:) Great shaping and shine. I know she will love it and its perfect for a golden wedding anniversity:)
And the higher groove on the opal makes it more of a design element. Really interesting concept and beautiful stone. an heirloom.
Your models  ( wife and daughter) are beautiful in their own right but wearing your designs made with love is really special.
Happy Birthday Ina:)

Thank you everyone!

I posted this by mistake in this section, I thought I am in the cabochons section. These are far from custom jewelry designs, just my regular groove wraps, LOL. George, if you could move this thread there I would be grateful.

Very cool.  It is fun to make jewelry for your loved ones.  Its probably fun to make jewelry for customers too, and when i get one i'll let you all know.  Do you know where the hematite jasper comes from?  It reminds me of Tiger Iron and some chatoyant US Jasper i have seen.
