Hello,

Here is an intarsia trivet I did awhile back.  I call it a trivet, although we haven't set anything hot on it.  It measures approximately 6" X 6", so maybe it's more like a large coaster.  It was my first attempt at using a technique shown in the 4th post of this thread: http://gemstone.smfforfree4.com/index.php/topic,1604.0.html (Intarsia question): My apologies to all the professional photographers out there.

That's great!!!!!!!!

I know how it's done. From doing marquetry in wood. But it still is not that easy & you've done a fine job of it. yes

Can't even imagine how long that piece too to make.  It's really a display of wonderful craftsmanship.

Christopher,  I can't say how long this one took, but probably longer than it should have since this was my first attempt at using this method, so it was a learning experience.  I worked on it for about a month.

Thanks for all your kind  comments.  I forgot to mention that this intarsia was made from just 2 rocks.  One was thulite and the other was malachite.
