Steve - did you see the links I posted a few days ago for some tutorials? Do you have anything in particular that you're looking for or just general cab wrapping tutorials?
No I haven't seen the tutorial link you posted. But, I'll look again. I finished a second wrap today and I don't seem to be getting the bale loop(s) very good. However, I did manage to get the shoulder wraps even this time. On this one I used a 16g square wire for the center and 18g round for the top and bottom edges for the piece of Fossil Walrus Tusk. Hummingbirdstones: I've checked on the tutorials, but can't seem to find what you spoke of. Could you post a link. Basically I'd like to learn more on who to do the bale loops and then, maybe, some of that fancy wire swirly stuff as accents.

Great Steve! You'll get the bales down pat, as good as you are with silver!

Steve what you've done looks really nice. But I think along with the others. That you need to use smaller guage wires. For the groove wraps that I've done so far. I use 20ga square ,round & half round. What is it that you don't like with the bails? Really can't see much on this one. Mike

The wire I have laying around is what I generally use in my silver-smithing........so that's what I've used just to see "if". Now I have a good tutorial and I know that I can do wrapping. So, next trip to the toy store will add different gauges to the inventory. "What is it that you don't like with the bails? Really can't see much on this one."You can't see what I can........... Thankx again for all the complements and the assistance................"I'll be back".........

That is probably true with only one picture. I can't see much wrong except one is higher than the other one. Try using about a 1/4" dowel to bend both over. That way both are the same size & same hieghth & most chains will go through it too. I had the same problem. They were not symetrical.

I like it!!
I like the heavy gauge wire and the contrast between the square and round main wires. The bails look nice and clean, I don't see any tool marks either. Outstanding for your 2nd or your 10th!

I like the heavier wire as well. It's harder to work with but for what you did, it worked very well! Actually makes me want to try it. Heavier wire - less wire - yet still secure. Might try it for a larger, heavier stone. Also lends a more masculine look! Of course, that is only my observation & my personal opinion which probably isn't worth all that much!

Nice work Steve - I too like the heavy gauge wire. It stands apart from the norm and in my opinion, that makes it more appealing.

Thank you all for you complements and encouragement in my newly added endeavor in jewelry making. It seems like I've stumbled across something that other Rappers ( ) were looking for - a more masculine look in wire art. Well, it was an accident........I was only trying this out with the variety of silver wires that I have in stock, for smithing, just to see if I could do it to some level of competency. Thankx to all again......... Steve
