These two I decided since the stones were larger & the Lapis is a bit more expencive. I'd dress up just a little. toofunny12
I included one of all the parts that go ito one like these. So you can see how it goes together. 1 Lapis & 1 Epedote in quartz

The leaves add a nice touch, and do dress up those stones.

Mike, those pieces are fancy.

The leaves add that extra touch. Do you make the leaves or are they a manufactured product?

Allen yes they are. Actually they were a discontinued style. That IJS had when I was there a couple of years ago. I bought all they had at the time. I had a friend of mine make a mold to make them (L & R wax). I have the mold & just have him make them when I need more. But places like IJS & Thunderbird have simmular ones available.

Mike, love them. We have looked everywhere, for that leaf and flower setup, including IJS and Thunderbird. Any other ideas?

The flower itself is a medium IJS casting (they make them in 3 sizes). The leaves are individuals l & r. The Epedote one actually has two different patern leaves. It's all just in how you bend the leaves (they start out flat) & how you put the assemblage together. I mainly deal only with IJS & thunderbird partly because they are the ones I'm familliar with.
I don't know about Rio Grand. I had one of their cattaloges years ago & they were much higher than either of the other two. Haven't seen one in years.

I love your pieces.  I bought a few leaves and other bits from Don Norris after I took a class from him. Now I am really interested in having a small piece cast (logo from a group I belong to). I have a prototype to mold from. How do you go about having a mold made?  Does L & R have a website?

I believe you missunderstand L&R is left & right. I had a friend make the rubber molds for the waxes & cast the leaves for me. He does vacume investment casting.

Oh, no I didn't catch that.  I have been looking for a local casting class. The community college doesn't have it now, budget cuts. Thanks for sharing.
