Had a Christmas Day !

Really was one of those "Wow, que c'est beautiful ! Extraordinaire !" kind of days !!   woohoo2  I am really stoked to start cabbing this !

The only thing that was missing is that I don't recall throwing my arms up in the air like little Julie.

These first two pics are of the non brecciated form of the Avila Rhyolite / Deedeeite which has Marcasite plumes. Those fractures are healed. Beauty slab !

Close up showing some Marcasite Plumes from the above non brecciated Avila Rhyolite.

Then here are several pics of the brecciated version.

Then this dark Plasma agate is really unusual too. The slab pics are good, but does not show the depth.. So I can tell you that the picture of the cab that Connie entered in a recent cab contest probably did not do it justice. There is a lot of depth..

The red vein is cinnibar which apparently lead to this agate getting locked away by the BLM in California.

Those are some really great pieces.  With your experienced hand, they will become great looking cabs.

I agree, can't wait to see what cabs you find hiding in those slabs.

Everyone has their own style.......so........we are waiting........

Hey Tao! We have plasma agate with cinnabar here in the old mercury mine dumps in Morton, Washington. There is also Myrikite  in the old dumps.

Woody, can you still collect plasma agate there?  Would that be the Roy mine? If we made the trip up from Oregon could you show us around?   Terrie

We got some plasma agate from California before it closed...I love it.

Terrie:

I have only been there one time, which was quite a few years back, but I believe the site is still open.  I will call a friend that is closer to Morton and find out the present status. I do not remember the name of the mine, but Roy sort of rings a bell.
