Talk about great timing.. Been giving some thought past few days to doing some online social networking focused on my local communities. That combined with possibly doing some arts and crafts type events.

Low and behold out of the blue I found out about a neat local event scheduled for this weekend of Aug 8th and 9th.. What is most amazing is that the event is less than 1/4 mile from my house !

I gave them a call and became a little concerned when I found out it is a juried event. I went over, picked up an app, and could not believe how simple it is ! Really basic info.. Pleasantly surprised after expecting a troublesome process after reading what you all posted and the link that Ron posted.

This is one of seven events this Treasures On Foxwood are doing. It sounds like going to be quite the deal for our little community.. They are expecting vendors from all around the Pacific Northwest. RV parking, BBQ, and even a wine bar !  :o

Got a hold of a 10 x 10 tent. Now giving some thought to how and display some stones. They are packaged up on cardboard inside those little plastic sealed baggies. Wish I knew a local jewelry designer that might be interested in sharing the space. Might be more interesting to display a few gemstone along with some neat jewelry.

Not exactly sure yet how to best display them.

My head is rambling several different ideas.. Going to be a lot of fun !

George, how exciting! And only a 1/4 mile away certainly cuts down on the lodging costs. I have come up with lots of display ideas for our jewelry, but other than a box with individual cab spaces I am stuck as to what to do to display cabs. One suggestion would be to display some of your silversmithing work along with your cabs.

Please let us know how is goes for you, I am sure we are all rooting for you...

George ....I built some simple display cases from cherry wood flooring and good quality glass. I wrapped some velveteen material on foam and used for backing. They serve the purpose and look pretty good too. Also I built a small bureau type chest that the cases slide into (like drawers) with small stepped display shelves on top. I keep it in my shop area and it solves some of the storage and makes it easy to show my work at home. I have been asked to submit some of my work to a shop in Great Falls. Sort of wierd.......Every thing they sell is juried in once a month!?!? They sell mostly art and jewelry but accept other "crafty" items. I guess I better either start another or finish an intricate creation or two...........  Bob

Well, the event itself was a huge success.. Even though I broke even on the space, and had one of my favorite Rutile Quartz stones stolen..

You can see some pics here.. Takes just a second for all the images to load ..

They are planning two similar events next summer.. I will go to both !

George, thank you for sharing you experience. Theft is always a problem at shows. It is something I work hard at stopping

I am so sorry that I had to miss it.

Thank you for the pictures!  I sure hope our community has more like this one.
