This arrow head design is still one of my favorites, I have been a competitive archer since the age of 13 and still enjoy the sport, this little carving will be raffled at the Australian junior archery comp this coming Easter, the jade is from my region.

Thanks for the great comments, quality jade is a pleasure to carve even though it takes longer than most gems, many people find polishing a huge challenge on nephrite, this material is easily 6.5 hardness, I carve with diamond points, pre polish with diamond and give it some extra shine with Linde A,

I use jade (nephrite) when I'm teaching "how to cab" classes for beginners.  I have found nothing better that shows the right way to grind and polish each step before moving to the next wheel.  It shows scratches better than anything else I've ever used.  "Is this ready to move to the next step?" - well look at it and tell me.

All that said, I don't think I've ever used the quality of jade you use but I keep looking.

Robert, post a picture and I will try to help, no one method works on all nephrite jades, there are 3 main deposits in my region and they all work differently with sanding and polishing, I use a 10x loope, if there are scratches from the previous grit they must be removed if you wan,t a first class polish.
