When I first posted on the web, it was on a hunting forum . Most posters used names like 300Magnum, so being contrary sort, I posted as Downwindtracker2. I take it to mean a man of foolish pursuits, in fact I used "You can hunt longer with the wind at your back" as my signature line. I thought the name was clever, but I can't take any credit for it, Paul St. Pierre ,a BC author, used it in his columns in the Vancouver Sun in the '60s, so the 2.

My wife is the real rockhound. I do like the traipsing around in the bush. I'm a retired millwright so old forlorn machines have a soft spot in my heart. If I just do this and that, it will better than new. That's how the path to endless projects starts.

On some forum software, it gets shortened, but it's Downwindtracker2.

As for being a rockhound, I've a surprising knack for  splitting rocks, tap, tap and there it's smaller. But packing out, if doesn't fit in my shirt pocket, it's a leaverite. My wife makes up for it, though.

Southerly, We have friends who are fosssillers (sp) from Cains. We stopped in at the club house and have been friends ever since. Aussies are like that.  The last time we were in Australia, we met up with them west of Catherine. we went off on a trip in the NT. We've done two trips ,once from Cains to Sydney and then Perth to Darwin.

The Aussies have even more fun rockhounding trips than we do in BC.
