Okay, it just seemed heavier. I weighed it and it was only 77 pounds. Some of it is really nice; very few slabs - mostly rocks.

All pictures taken with the rocks dry. This one in particular is interesting; it looks like amethyst crazy lace. Is there such a thing?

Love the patterns on all of these !

The last two, your favorites are to poorly fractured to cab I'm afraid..

The rest look great, and, no to amethyst being in these kind of lace agates.

Sadly, my being lucky is due to someone else's bad luck. A friend of mine is very ill and he wanted me to have them because he knows how much I love crazy lace. He also was trying to talk me into taking ocean jasper, which I'm not so crazy about. Also, rocks are heavy and I had to carry these quite a distance to get them.

There are several that are really good, and I think might have to cut some of them; at least slab them. You can't tell how pretty they are unless you open them up. Some have those terrific clear bands that allow you to see inside; almost a parallax effect. George, one of my favorite ones does have fractures, but the smaller one is pretty solid. It looks like most of the cracks are healed.

I haven't seen lace this good for years; most of it lately has had messy patterns that are primarily red and white. This is the only agate or jasper I allow myself to "collect"; there are too many beautiful different kinds and there would never be an end to it.

Sorry about your friend...

Good Ocean Jasper is getting harder to get. At least that is what I have noticed since just picking cabbing back up again recently.

I seem to have a good sourcs for Mexican Lace agate, but if you ever decide to slice into a chunk or two of the jasper, please let me have a look if you would be interested in selling a few slabs.

Thanks for sharing all the pics Debbie !

Thank you guys so much! I looked at pictures on Ebay and I think you're right. Sadly, this piece does have cracks on part of it so it isn't good for a specimen slab, but would make some pretty cabs. I hadn't ever seen anything quite like it, so I appreciate the ID.
