Can I solder a shark tooth?

I just started basic jewelry making and have a little bit of silver and gold solder. I wanted to solder jump rings onto the fossilized teeth using Cooper tape - is this possible? Can I do the same with pearls??

How can I find out what items cannot be soldered onto ? 

I’ve got sea glass and some shells that I’ve burnished with the Cooper tape. (Pic)

What you want to do is a stained glass technique on jewelry.  I would not solder anything directly onto a shark tooth.  You run the risk of discoloring and fracturing.  Natural pearls are a definite no. You will totally ruin it.    Fake pearls are also a no.  Plastic will melt.  Glass you might be able to get away with, but it could also fracture.  I'm assuming the copper foil you are using is the type with adhesive on it.  It will need to be burnished extremely well for it to hold up.  The glue dries out over time and with the weight of what you put it on hanging from it, it would pull off eventually I would think. 

I think a better approach would be to learn how to wire wrap to set your found materials for jewelry.  There are a ton of how-to videos on YouTube.
