Hi all,
My name is Jake. I live in Eastern Ohio and have just recently gotten into this lapidary hobby. Part of the reason i decided to start this hobby is because I teach middle school students Earth Science. I figured it would be much more interesting if they could see some of the beautiful rocks that are all around this world. Which leads to how they are created, what they are made from, etc. and so forth.
Currently I am just running a Lortone tumbler on some mixed rough that I have. The more I troll the internet and the more I read posts on this forum and others, the more I find myself wanting to get deeper into this hobby. I currently have plans to buy a flat lap and trim saw in the next few months. My wife was not thrilled initially, but after I showed her some photos from this website, she is a full supporter...lol
I look forward to continuing to learn and be amazed by some of the stuff on this board.
Jake

Thank you for the welcomes.
I love looking through all the posts here and drooling over the creations of the users. Hope to contribute more as time goes on. I plan on making a trip out to Flint Ridge when the weather breaks in a couple months. So hopefully I can report some stuff from that.
