Got another batch of Montanas and cut this slab tonight. Pretty big (4" X 2.25") with only minimal surface checking on the perimeter.
My question is this: is the pattern when backlit referred to as "turtle back"?
Thanks!

Yup! Turtle back, I'm not sure if it one word or two, though. Bob

I have cut quite a few of them, never had one like that. Great looking piece!

I had a friend in Montana who I rock hunted with for years. Joe Love who made the greatest Tiffany style lamps with Montana agate slabs. That piece would look so perfect in a lamp shade. Shades do not have to be big. You can make small 4 inch table top lamp shades or even a nightlight would be very cool with turtleback.

I love the nightlight idea... That might work with Iris agate, too... Have to try it out, thanks!
