As well with being my contest entry for this month, this also doubles as my present the woman gets for her b-day. She's been saying the rubber on her old Blue Ridge "Watch the Roads" key-chain has been dying out and how she wanted something different... so with one of her doesn't even know exists slabs she has hiding, this became the project to replace said key-chain. This took on a few forms as it went. I wasn't happy with it at first, but the last hour of work really pulled it through to something I am pleased to give. All wire is Sterling Silver.

Lovely stone, and a gorgeous setting for it! The pattern in the stone gives it the appearance of being filled by something.

Amazing piece.  If you don't mind could you share how many hours that wrap took?

Planning/idea/sketching took a few days, the stone took about and hour and a half, the wrap took me around two hours. The little amethyst quartz was nothing..

The overall, woman absolutely loves it and now always has something to show off when she can't wear necklaces, the best kind of advertising.

Wish I did, I tried ID'ing it myself but no luck. Was one of the random slabs I didn't know my wife bought at a gem-show... she always finds the good stuff, and thats why she always goes with me.
