I took a detour from a business trip to Georgia this week to slog through the south woods in a torrential rain looking for Summerville lace agate. I ended up drenched, but with a sack full of interesting stones I mailed back to myself from the Summerville post office. Many thanks to Lookout Mountain Man for all the help finding a spot to hunt. I plan to write up a trip report this weekend, but thought I'd share this "first cut" from the ~25 lbs of material I collected. Brecciated chert with bubblegum pink agate and Druzy pockets. Cheers!

Beautiful stuff Jeremy. You definitely hit IMHO one of the best spots for agate in Georgia. I am so happy you had a good experience!

Trade for slab of anything, in particular? What size is that?

Thanks to all.
These are about 4"x2". I have some larger chunks I'll slab up. I just got new oil for the saw so hopefully this weekend.
RD/FS - let me try to work up some of it and see if it's worth trading. If it polishes up I'll post some in the Shop/Swap area.
Thanks!

Here's a slab off the second rock - a colorful jasp-agate with purple, pink, yellow, red, and a few other colors mixed in there. It's even got some areas of fortification. Wild stuff! I might have to find my way back to GA sometime...

These are as nice pastels as I have ever seen in rocks. The colors work well together also.Thanks.

I'm dying to make a few cabs - just can't seem to sneak into the shop long enough to get it done. Soon I hope!
