Old Royal rock saw

I have an old Royal rock saw, 18" from Jenkins lapidary, Portland OR. I am guessing 1940's or 50's. This was given to me by a friend who had grown weary of fighting a worn carriage and noisy bearings.
I wonder if it is worth rebuilding or if I am better off to start over with something a little less antique.
All advice and opinions appreciated.

Unless everything is rusted out, it's always worth rebuilding the vintage machines. They were built to last a lifetime, unlike the new throw away machines.

Rust is not an issue with this machine. The housing is galvanized steel and has only one small drip at an after-market drain plug on the bottom. I am sure that will be easy to remedy
The biggest issue is wear on the carriage. It moves a 1/4" this way and that if you wiggle it. The bores where the lateral guides move back and forth when you align the rough to take off another slab are wallowed and the screw threads on the adjustment are very loose.
The bearings on the arbor do not scare me but I am not sure of my ability to rebuild the carriage.
Is there a place or person to contact? For direction or help?

You can put brass bushings in the carriage to remove the slop in the carriage.
The thing that wears out the most on these saws is the split nut. You can cut a nut in half and weld it on to the split nut assembly to fix that issue.

You can still buy parts for this saw, the grandkids still have all the parts and if you can get ahold of them you can get new parts if you want to completely rebuild it.

I have already dealt with the split nut issue. I have a friend with a machine shop who re-built that piece when my friend owned the saw.
I will try to locate the grandkids and maybe get some new parts for the old girl.....
Thanks for the input.
Any ideas about how to reach the heirs?

the Royal, like every other saw I've worked on used off the shelf parts wherever possible.  If you need special parts you can try 503-774-8334.  That is a very old number for Jenkens Lapidary, but worth a try.  If the carriage uses bushings you can order them from mcmaster.com.  If they do not have the exact size then you will need to get in touch with a bearing supplier in your area.  Every large city will have a few.  The list of sizes available from Oilite would blow your mind.  Oilite changed hands a while back and now has a new name I can't recall but everyone will recognize the Oilite name.  Don't let anyone talk you into Igus plastic bearings.  This is not an appropriate application.
