I took some time early this morning and finished this cab. I cut it from an odd end piece that I had set aside a while ago. Has a hematite filled stress line I was worried about. It held together so it should be good for bezel setting. I like the fortifications in this one along with the orange yellow. Sorry about the size if the picture. Tried to re-size on Photobucket but it was not letting me do it. Thanks for looking! Eric (Ajo)

Is that dark area at the top of the inner fortification a crystal pocket or more agate?

It is a pocket. I think it could be a hematite, but it is very soft. Eric(Ajo)

Thanks, Eric. I generally try to cut around crystal pockets (just the way I was taught, but I date myself...). I do have a flat of small Laguna nodules that might make for some stones with pretty pockets. I may have to take a closer look at them and see if any inspiration strikes.
