I don't see why something like this would work both for metal clay kilns or soldering at the bench. They can be set up to duct outside of you  can get them so they recirculate through a charcoal filter and a metal filter. I would just make a box for it to set on and you can run a temp hose through the window in a pinch. or set up permanent ducting if you near an outside wall or up through the ceiling.

Your not really making that much smoke or fumes.
