I don't know what products are available to you but many people dop sensitive materials like opal with white household glue.  A popular brand name here in the U.S. is Elmer's.  It's soluble in water but adheres well enough for most wet grinding /sanding/polishing operations.  Use quite a bit and let it dry 12 hours or more.   Just place the dopped stone into a glass of water overnight to remove it.  In some cases it can take longer to dissolve depending on how much is used initially.

When I use dop wax with superglue (method described here: http://gemstone.smfforfree4.com/index.php/topic,16056.0.html) I usually cut the stone off with a rotary tool with a cutting disk (I use the metal diamond discs).

acetone will release the superglue; it is miscible in water so as far as I know from using it and others experience, has no effect on the stones.

I have been using E6000 epoxy to attach my Opal to the dop stick. Let dry overnight and peels off pretty easy. When I used super glue I had too many opals with divots popped out of the stone.
