I am going to be heading out of town to visit family and attend my twenty year high school reunion.  So I'm posting this up a few days ahead of time so when the first hits you all have a thread to post your pretties too!

For new members not familiar with how these contests work.

Entries are cabs only. Completed during this contest period. Not cabs pulled from the drawer.

Please include a pic of the original slab, then a pic of the preform, and finally, the finished cab.

Please try to remember at least a pic or two of the original slab and or preform..

Feel free to share with us what ever you like about the mineral, and or what ever else you would like to share.

You can enter any shape cab and your choice of mineral.

Things like intarsia, finished jewelry, carvings and composite type cabs can not be entered in an effort to keep the contest somewhat fair by just entering free form style cabs.

Remember, this is all in fun.    yippie  Just a little something we do together as a group. More about just joining in, and having some fun.

Cabs posted here are only for the contest.  One entry per member.

And here's what y'all will be competing for in August!
You can thank Tony (Catmandew) of Idaho Rock Shop for the gorgeous slabs.

Sorry for the picture.  I'm a bit shaky from my pneumonia drugs right now but otherwise feeling so much better!

We have:
Labradorite
Stony Creek
A chunk of petrified sycamore that broke off a larger slab in shipment. (Just means I have more to give out to y'all...)

Suppose someone needs to start, have faith their should be another dawn after Amanda departs.

I will stay with old faithful Agate Creek. This time from the Crystal Hill diggings
A pic I may have shown before from the top of Crystal Hill and two of the monuments there.

The stone as dug there looks most unpromising, it takes some cleaning and fortitude to cut but the results can be amazing, a huge variety of stone.

My cab from last month was galaxy agate, this stone has some worm holes maybe suitable to connect the galaxy's (any Dr Who fans here?)

This small slab has some clear and tube(worm) agate

On cutting the stone the back had some imperfections so the stone needed to be reversed. The damaged section could be ground off.

Finished product

Due to the subdued colours taking pics was not to easy.
Thanks for looking folks.

I'll go second.  This is a yellowstone moss we collected by Sydney MT. I thought it very interesting, most the moss we collected has black/orange dendrites in it. This one has green, red and black. You just don't know till you cut em.

Allen - That is one nice Tube /Moss Agate combination.

I have a great weakness for cutting those myself, they can be a very challenging rough, but oh the results when a good one comes along.

great entys; it looks like the month for clear with highlights is the theme so I'll have to do some digging through my pile... maybe some of the "Indian Mountain" will fit.

That's a really striking cab RR with the one red plume.
Looks like the algae had a battle and someone lost...

I don't know.  The person who posted it might have deleted his post for some reason.
