Bad bearings

So ... After installing a beale/ Woolley type system on my machine , it lived up to its name and made me aware of a ( what I think ) bad bearing. The quill moves in/out ever so slightly , pretty much the cause of all my problems so far! So glad to realise it , though now wondering if I can replace them myself as a factory job might be a hassle( its an ultratec , and I live in Australia ) or pretty much not an option.
Starting to think maybe a new machine ( face in hands) . Any input would be nice on the best way to go about doing it yourself with an acceptable outcome would be appreciated .
Thanks

Such is my experience with my machine so far( ultratec) ... I think the lack of anybody's feedback and that of reps, lead me to the conclusion of not upgrading my machine and looking at another manufacturer. Surprising to see no- one else has this problem or how to get around it . Maybe they haven't noticed the inaccuracies . Small one albeit... But forget about it , minor lapse on concentrating on something that shouldn't occur anyway , recut is the process . Frustrating ... Making me drink twice as much beer ... That's costly too...

I think you should contact Ultra-Tec directly and talk to them about the problem you're having. They can probably walk you through whatever needs to be done to correct the slop in your quill. See here:
