New Wraps - Woodward Ranch, Autumn Jasper

I haven't had much time to wrap in the past few months, since adding a new puppy to my house. It's amazing how much time they take away from your previous activities! Anyway, I spent a week in New Mexico with my family, which allowed me to time to wrap in the evenings while my puppy played with my parents' dog. I managed to crank out about 10 new wraps, but I only have these two left.
I also played with my photography a bit. I think I prefer the white background over the navy corduroy I was using. I still need new bulbs and a tripod for my camera, but I think it's improving slowly.

Those are just gorgeous!!!
White backgrounds are really hard to photograph well. Look at the tonality between the white and the silver on the bottom of the pictures. Now look how the silver pops against the darker rock. Our eyes are drawn to contrasts.

Very nice. I agree, the darker background really makes the piece stand out.

Beautiful, and I too agree about the WoodWard Ranch piece and how it pops out nicely against the dark background.
Really pretty!

These are really nice and count me in on favoring the Woodward piece too. I also like how the wire curls more loosely on the one side like little tendrils.

The tops are really well done. They add a sense of elegance, especially to the Woodward Agate piece. I am starting to look into wire wrapping and silver work as a way to get more money out of my cabs. The prices I see for finished cabs on ebay and other places, are disastrously low. Three bucks for a really nicely polished cab from an American dealer. I am used to seeing outrageous prices from countries where workers are barely better off than slaves, but for an American Artist to price their hand crafted artwork this low, its a crime. We are pricing ourselves out of business. The only way I see to get any value at all for my cabs, is to mount them myself and charge a considerably higher price as a finished piece of jewelry. For three bucks a piece, I will keep them for my kids, who can sell them for something when most of the stone we are currently using, has been gone for 30 years. Forgive me, I rant. I will go start a new thread. The wrapped pieces are really nice and I would be very proud if I can someday wrap as well. Mark

Excellent work, like how you incorporated each stone and wrap. Great job.
