This weekend I went to the Roseville show where I displayed my case and to the Calaveras show to browse.
Here are some pictures of my display case:
The whole case.

The left side.

The right side

Both shows were really great, but I preferred the dealer selection at the Roseville show.
My next display opportunity is at the California Federation and Santa Clara Valley Club show next April  17, 18 & 19 in San Jose.

What a wonderful case! I have heard that the Roseville show has great dealers.

Did it look like people were buying? Or were they mostly just looking?

The box and goblet stem were done by the lost wax casting method. I don't do PMC. I tried it and it didn't impress me much, sorta like play dough for jewelers.
I only took pictures of my case and one other that had hand made knives with handles made from Pietersite. There wasn't any dealers with anything that struck me as photogenic and that I hadn't seen before. I usually am only interested in cutting rough at most shows. They did have a room of giant petrified wood log slabs and dealers with some really striking material but I didn't want to take pictures without flash. There was a lecture going on in one end of the room and a flash would be rather disruptive.
Generally sales were good at the Roseville show. There were a few dealers selling finished silver pieces from India and Pakistan that seemed to be doing poorly. I see the material at the very large jewelry show in San Mateo being sold in the wholesale area at half the price. Its probably where they get their inventory from.
The Calaveras show was smaller and seemed to be very slow. Not many people in attendance, maybe competing with the Roseville show though they are about 100 miles apart. I got some really fantastic Brazilian slabs at the Calaveras show. I got a few slabs at the Roseville show and two Tektites. Those that George posted piqued my interest in trying to work some.
A rather busy weekend what with having to drive 75 miles to set up my case on Friday, coming home Saturday and going to the Calaveras show and back to Roseville on Sunday.
The upcoming CFMS show will be worse. Its a 3 day show and I have to drive 120 miles for it.

Bob, how many shows a year do you attend as a vendor?

Gary,
I don't sell my stuff for the most part, so I never go as a vendor. I have sold some of my surplus rocks at the Valley Springs Pow Wow when I shared a booth with a freind, but that was a few years ago. Next year my wife wants me to have a booth to sell my rocks and slabs but at this time I'm not in the mood to part with them. (Shush! Don't tell my wife!!!!)
