I have been working on two sets of earring sets for a lady, one set for her and one set for her daughter. The first set I finished I entered in the Nov KJC and the second set I finished last night. I'm using a embossing plate on the sets 22 gauge base. I might even do a little oxidizing on this set if she wants...........

Don:

Really pretty and very elegant. It might look nice oxidized; the black might tie into the stone. But so many times I think that I'm going to improve the look of a piece with liver of sulfur and then end up cleaning it off. I can't seem to effectively visualize the effect. But these are really nice just the way they are!

I haven't oxidized many of my pieces and when I did only a few I liked. I have ordered a new oxidizer from Rio Grande, it should arriving today, I may try to see if it works ok on these. I'm trying it on a few scraps first.

Thanks for the Kudos,

Very nice........I think accenting the outside with oxidation would allow it to stand out a little more and also accent the stones. ..................... yes

I use Griffith Silver Black, but all others I've used work as well on silver..................

Ooo, I like this set is much better than the set you entered into the contest, yes indeed. I don't know that I'd use LOS, the silver will pick up it's own patina over time anyway and will be more natural looking too. yes

You did good Don.    The Sonora Sunrise cabs from red, black and green are super-fine.

Don!  Holy Smack!  Dude those are fantastic!  I love how you are using a rolling mill/press to texture the backplate.

Very nice!  You did a great job matching the stones.  I think they'd look better lightly patinaed but in a little time natural oxidation will do the job.  Good use of the stone. It seems to demand a Southwest treatment.
