I always have some photo problems with gem stones and jewelry and take a lot of extra shots (thanks to digital). Then again, a photo comes out with some amazing results like this sunstone that I faceted yesterday...
The stone is clear with a few shillers and the cross is highlighted by frosting the adjacent facets.
But, look how sunshine took over.

That's an interesting cut. I know what you mean about photos (I haven't even been able to get the sun to cooperate the last week).

Is it a yellow color, that is my monitors color of it?  Kool cut.  I love the clear stuff with lots of coppery shiller.  I have one crappy kracked piece and ebay bids always go to high for me.

There is just a hint of yellow in it.  The light just caught this one right to give the dramatic effect.

Really pretty! I love the cross in the back; very subtle. When the light is not refracting so much does the stone look clearer?

It almost looks chatoyant. Very nice stone and cut.

Yes, it looks very clean.  The 1st ones I did, I frosted the cross and that looks better in most colors.  I thought with clear (or almost clear) I would use frost beside the cross so the color of clothing show through in the cross.  We'll see how it works.

I'm thinking it would be very hard to see all the characteristics of your Sunstone in one photo.  Bet it's a big difference when your twirling it in your hand with the light bouncing around.

Nice! How's the cutting on the new machine? I've been to lazy as of late, got 2 stones dopped but haven't been cutting. To few rainy days, I guess. hide

Willie,
New Facetron is great.   I've gotten real comfortable with it.  But, I'm not fast.  Have cut 8 stones on it (3 glass practice).

Trying to understand cutting orders.
