Nice color on both. Like the minimalist look on the first one. Lets the stone shine in all its glory.  hatsoff

Beauties yes   The Amazonite looks like its floating. I really like the stamp work on the Lace Agate. Is that the nail setting tool or a new one?   I wish my stamping looked like that .help

Steve, great job.  Love the simple setting on the amazonite.  Will have to try something like that in the future.

I used two nail sets to get the design on the accent wire.  I 1st stamped with a 4/32 nail set then came back at the intersections with a 2/32 nail set to put in the little circles.............

On the Amazonite my idea was to be as little intrusive on the stone as possible, both front and back.   Both sides are cabbed along the chatoyant layers in the stone................Hard to get that in a photo........... dunno

Nice work. I love amazonite, I have a pound or so and think it looks great. I'm surprised I don't see more cabs on the market.
The silver stamping is awesome. I need to work on some stamping for my borders. So I can change up my design. There starting to look like cookie cutters.

I do three kinds of work, good, fast and cheap. I can only do two at a time. If you want it good and cheap it won't be fast. If you want it fast and cheap it won't be good. If you want it good and fast it won't be cheap.

I like both pieces.  Have some amazonite that I slabbed.  Is it hard to cab?  Found it very brittle.  Should it be stabalized?

No it wasn't hard to cab.  This was pretty stable but I used a gentle hand in polishing because I had sliced it parallel to the chatoyant plain and that seems a little flaky at times.  I don't know about stabilizing, never tried it............

The amazonite I cut.. cut like a dream. No problems at all. I cut small rough stones though not slabs.

You sure do come up with some neat designs. I recognize the powder finish but how did you pattern the first one? Thanks for shareing.

Steve:

As always, cool designs, pretty stones and impeccable metalwork. I wish I could do construction work as well as you, but I don't think I'll live that long. Thanks for sharing these with us.
