Just re-visiting to take another look at that great Mother's Ring and again noticed you said the Malachite wouldn't high shine once set.  I have re-buffed Malachite in settings using a Jeweler's Rouge Cloth................Just a thought........... dunno

I tried some jeweler's rough on a muslin wheel with a very light touch with no luck.  The 50,000 diamond is what you see and it stopped polishing right there. Like I said the slab I trimmed it off of polishes real well with the 50m.

Thanks Mike. I first thought you were going to clue me in on something I had done wrong. I know there is a mistake or two I did and I'm not telling. chuckle

Wow.........I just take Malachite to 600 and then use Fabuluster.....Zam works too..............And, there are no 'mistakes', only 'improvements' to the original design concept on the fly.....................

Good info Steve I'll try that way the next time.

My material was some I found stached in some bins with other slabs I had put there 30 years ago. These slabs are so hard if you hit it lightly with piece of metal it has a ring. The malachite nowadays is much softer it won't ring.
