Sorry I this is the wrong place. Or not allowed. My phone is a bit hard to read and do much searching.

But I have an unused, unopened, UltraTec V5 Digital readout that I'm going to sell. I had planned to educate myself on the process of faceting of some of my wife's sapphires, and other stuff but circumstances look like that's going to be put on hold, for some time.

I ordered this in May and it just arrived. Paid over $6000 for it and a ton of accessories.

Anyway, I'm looking for the best place to advertise this and do t know where to begin.  I'd like to sell it locally to avoid the hassle of shipping it.  It's all packed up still so I guess that's not a big deal.

Suggestions?

My wife is the collector.  But I've recently decided I need to learn a bit more about making art from rocks. ;)

I just wanted to take some time to say hello again. I haven't  had any contact in quite some time. I've had a few bumps along the road, some highs and some lows also. Things are looking better and are smoothing out, so I see better times ahead.
Looking around the forum I see I've got a lot of reading to catch up on. Anyway, I'd like to say hello to everyone and to let everyone know it's time for me to start picking everyone's brain again. I hope everyone's happy, healthy and doing what makes you, you!

Can anyone shed some light on the following - I have two Crystalpads, one is coarse textile and claimed to be final polish and the other is finer textile and is claimed to be pre-polish.  I think the identification has been mixed up when the company change hands?  some years ago.  I think the coarse textile pad should be pre-polish and the fine textile surface pad should be final polish.  If anyone has a packet of either one of these from many years back, I would appreciate that piece of information.    Thank you in advance.  I have spoken to the relevant company experts but was met with uncertainty.

I have a few questions for anyone who can help with identification of the correct Crystalpad for pre-polishing and final polishing(one has coarse surface the other has a finer textile surface - not sure which is which).  And, also the type of diamond paste to use on these pads - ie. water based or oil based etc...  Thanks in advance.

I think I had a membership here before but I can't remember my user name so I am new again! I am a musician who make guitar picks for a hobby. I give a lot of them away but I have sold a few.

I am getting back into the hobby and wanted to share my creations here!

I have an old 14" Frantom slabbing saw I bought used about 11 years ago. It worked great for months, then I got busy with life and stopped lapidary. Getting back into it now, but the carriage will not advance. The clamp in front seems to work. T dunno28he threaded rod is not moving when I turn the motor on. Belt is connected to the arbor in the back, which goes into what looks like a gearbox. Any ideas on the problem, and how to rectify it? (I think I used oil way too thick and it's all gunked up, plus sat for 10 years so I have to clean all that out. Could that somehow cause this help issue?)  help
