Welcome,  just abit south of you in Comstock Park.

2  The Gathering / Our Place / Re: my new website on: December 24, 2015, 04:43:21 pm
Really like the layout and site interaction.

Only thing is your cab prices seem undervalued, didn't look close at size etc but great prices on beautiful work.

Must be a Lake Superior Agate if came from where you live. None of those in my back yard
Not sure on this one, it was in with some misc slabs that all the others were local TX finds, but this was the odd one in the bunch so no real idea.

well after the recent post on purple cow, I had to get some of it. Picked up about 12 slabs, has some pockets to work around but should cut 100's of nice cabs. Really old dug stuff that has lots of greens reds Browns and purples.

The bottom 2 are similar to thunder egg interiors, where did the calico come from?

Local gut with a few tons I get to go pick thru.

Was a nice chunk on the I heart rocks Facebook page if your looking.

Cabbing a lot lately. Really like the calico with small druzy.  Debating on if I'll work the clear moss some more. Started cutting into some back side pockets.
9  Stone Talk / Moderator, Hummingbirdstones ( Robin ) / Identification Inquiries / Morrisonite? on: December 11, 2015, 09:00:21 pm
This was in a bin labelled morissonite  when I found it.  To me it  doesn't look like other  morrisonite that I own. This is faced each side.  Anyone have any thoughts.

This material is a challenge to find now days in any quality or quantity.  When I was younger, we used to dig this material at several of the mines in the Crosby-Ironton area.  The silkstone was much easier to find than the binghamite.  I'll have to see what cabs I have of this that I can take pictures of.

Have fun

The Amethyt Rose

Please post pics when you have time.  I also had some of the layered more evenly as well. Cut some with the grain and some against it.  Have to find the time next to cab some of it. Hopefully I didn't waste material cutting it wrong.
