This looks like some of the Opal-Agate mixture found in the hills around here. (Western Montana)

I just acquired an old Poly Arbor type Crown that is set up for 12" wheels. It is very heavy duty. It looks like yours Don,  except turned right side up. The shaft is 1" dia. The same as my 4 wheel Crown. I have never run across anythjng with a 1 1/8" shaft. I Love my old Crown though. Good Luck with yours!!!

I have seen this structure before. What I have seen is usually quartz deposited over calcite plates and is called Lamellar structure. It could be a similar formation with agate. Iron staining could account for the color.

The last Aventurine I bought was at the Rock Shed in Keystone N.D. It is Apricot and works up really well. I think it was around 6.00 or 7.00 a lb. It is an included quartz. I believe the green has fuchsite and the peach has iron mineral inclusions.

Cow dung!?!? How disturbing.  Reads like it protects private land owners from illegal entry by jack booted eco-terrorist/government employees. I have a friend that recently had both a state and a federal employee drive through his gate past the No Trespassing signs  and start inventorying the Grizzly habitat. He locked the gate called the sheriff and held them until the sheriff arrived. Guess who was arrested............Certainly not the trespassers. After a year and a half a small fortune in lawyers fees it got to federal court where the judge threw all half a dozen BS charges out. Cow Dung indeed!

Cool. We need something like this in Montana. Don't see much wrong with this other than the fact it is growing the Bureaucracy. Its a sad day when we need more bureaucrats to protect us from the bureaucrats.

You might want to look for mound or raised area in the center of the crater rather than a depression. The ground rebounds here and generally is a good indicator of an impact sight.

I buy mine at Murdochs. Last time it was 15.00 a gallon. The manual for my old Lortone  says to use oil only. Good luck!!!
