Thanks, everyone! Yes, Mark. I was shooting for leaves. It didn't come out exactly how I anticipated but I was still happy with it. Steve, I need to see some of your scroll work! I've been checking out websites of the members here (thanks to Mark, again) and I love seeing work from all of you!

Beautiful cabs! I love the variety and different shapes/cuts. Chrysocolla is one of my all-time favorites!

Alright, I'm a newbie to this group but wanted to share a piece that I did back in 2008. It's Seraphinite set in sterling silver. I was practicing my piercing skills a lot during this time.

Hey Mark! I just wanted to throw in my two cents here. I'm new to the forum so I don't know much about what has been going on here, but my overall experience has been great! I've spent a lot of time just navigating and reading what everyone is up to. One thing I wish I could see- and maybe this is somewhere on here and I just haven't come across it yet- are websites of the members. And sure, maybe everyone doesn't have a website with their work and info, but if you do, I love checking out websites. Mostly to see what you are up to, but also to see how you have it organized and for pricing references.

I love this forum and have found it to be my go-to for info rather than googling all of the time. I've been working on a lot of new material, jewelry and lapidary work. I am almost finished with my website and would love to have some feedback when it's finished. I'll be sure to post that. :)

Hey everyone!
I'm new to the forum and came across it by chance.

I've been rockhounding since I was a young kid and doing lapidary work and silversmithing for over a decade now. As much as I love working in the studio and creating works made of metal, my true love is rocks, minerals and everything in between!

Recently, I was rummaging through some old boxes in the studio and came across some material that I wanted to cut. I'd been hanging on to it for years and I was convinced that this material was "Citron Chrysoprase" or Magnesite from the Yerilla Mine in Australia. However, a few of my fellow lapidarian friends seem to think it's a rare, old type of Varascite from Lucin, Utah. (I don't think it's Varascite, but I'm also not familiar with the "old Varascite" that they speak of). While google searching and trying to find some info, I came across a post in this forum between two guys having a conversation about the same exact thing. However, since I wasn't a member of the forum, I could not see the photos. Now that I'm in, I cannot find that post anywhere. Even when google searching again. Weird, right? The post was several years old.

ANYWAYS, I was hoping someone could help me identify or assure me that what I have is in fact Magnesite from the Yerilla Mine. It's pale yellowish green, and according to my scratch test, it's about a 7. I'm attaching a photo here. I hope that's ok?

Thanks for adding me to the forum! Athens, GA does not have that many rockhounds so it's going to be nice to communicate with like-minded folks here!
