Looks like the sun or moon rising over the badlands.

Here's my freeform entry for March. I don't know what kind of agate it is, but it's a little different.
Thanks
Mike

Hi Debbie,
Thanks for the info. It does have the base clamp. Good idea with the bobbing compound, now all I have to do is get my buffing wheels back from my father. He "borrowed" them 2 years ago to buff out some watch cases (he fixes pocket watches) and has yet to return them. LOL. I have the same problem with tools, if I have the slightest idea I might use it, I won't get rid of it.

I got this in a lot of old lapidary stuff and i'm just now getting around to cleaning it up. (needs a lot more work) I'm still very new to cabbing, truthfully I only completed five cabs. But anyways is this device for making bracelets or rings? I don't no if I should keep it for doing work when I get better or if it's not something I'll use, does it have value for trading or selling. For the most part right now I would like to no what it's used for if anyone knows.
Thanks.
Mike

Thanks, I'm always looking for stuff around MA. I have now found some good sources for Chiastolites (cross stones). And may have found some quartz with black turmaline. I am looking again now to trade some of the serpentine in trade for slabbing.

Great news Mark. Loved to go rock Hounding for a weekend.

It more than likely is schist, I have schist there before with garnets in it. Up to a quarter inch is size. Last year my 7 year runs up me and is this a garnet ( I'm thinking, yeah right he found one) He hands me one almost a 1/2 inch in size. Got to love him.
