Is the color saturation off on your camera? That doesn't look like any holly blue that I have ever seen. I'm used to seeing the material in brilliant purple, but these look pink...

Pullman actually, but that will be close enough so I can poach your *good* spots!

Moving across the state so my beautiful wife can finish school. 10 hours is a bit of a commute for a day of digging. I'll probably come round once a year or so, but that will be personal stash! :)

I wish! I had so much fun in Q the year that I participated. Have fun everyone!

Hello Everyone! Mining season is upon me again, and I need reasons to dig.

This will be the last year that I am going to dig Olympic Poppy, so this is the last chance to get some while the getting is good. As always special pricing for forum members. I don't publish prices because of search engines, but members here always get my best material for the best price. This has been my lapidary home for years, and I've learned so much from ya'll that I like to give back.

If you are interested in a box, please shoot me a PM.

Thanks!

All are beautiful stones, and you polish is amazing. Very well done.

OF course the poppy jasper is my favorite, but that's how I roll.. :)

And being warm.

The fact that you can do that in ten hours is a testament to your level of skill! Amazing piece. I could see it being worn with a big silver chain/bead necklace, or something that Enchantra would create. No matter what you do with it, it is fantastic! Thanks for sharing this one!

Very nice looking rock! First I've ever heard of orbicular being found near there. Let's hope for a dump truck load of 50lb boulders! :)

Good find!

How about posting some links so those of us that this concerns can do our own reading?

About the best deal that I've found on shipping is using Ebay global shipping program. They'll ship a medium flat rate box (about 30lbs) to Canada for $28us. That is less than half what it would cost any other way.

I agree with Wyrock, about buying your slabs on the forum. Nice way to know your forum mates, as well as supporting good people. You are much more likely to get good deals here than anywhere else that I have found.

15  Lapidary the Internet and You / Moderator, Michael Hoover / Shop and Swap / A different kind of rough sale- on: August 08, 2014, 12:32:46 pm
Hey all!

Through a series of choices, I've gotten myself into a very difficult financial position.Basically, I've exhausted all avenues of revenue to complete the home I've been building for 10 years, and I have a upcoming deadline to relocate for my wife's education. I'm seriously considering a crowd-funding campaign to help me finish my house.

In crowd-funding campaigns, there are a series of "rewards" for folks that donate to claim. I thought that I could offer a few different quantities of rough rock as rewards to encourage my lapidary friends to participate.

I am asking for feedback on this idea with this post. This forum has been a wonderful place for me to share the stones that I mine over the years, and I'm thankful for the friends that I have met here.

Joshua
