I, for one, had a big time.
Being a novice, I took the 'shotgun' approach and picked up everything that was 'purty'.  I didn't get too wet, 'cause I had a rain poncho (always prepared, Nancie)  My 'shotgun' approached waned as my bucket got heavier.
After going thru my rocks, I think I got two that meet the boley agate criteria...Yay!
I want to thank Mia for being such fun and allowing me to ride with her, Dave for putting the trip together and Dean for showing me what to look for.
When is the next adventure?

Gary:
Having been thru a house fire with total destruction, my heart breaks for you.
It's like losing your whole history.
Insurance doesn't cover the things near and dear to your heart.
It took me awhile to come to the realization that it was 'just stuff' I lost.

So sorry.

Looks alot better than my first cab...and I haven't been brave enough to post my cabs yet.
Dopping will help alot with the flat spots and ridges.  I just go to Home Depot and buy a wooden dowel and cut into 4-5" pieces for dop sticks.
There are some good tutorials on here and online.
Keep cabbing!

Yes...Craigslist has been very good to me.  Or maybe I have been good to them.

Dave posting my cabs will have to wait until I see some posted as poor as mine.  Actually I really like some of them....maybe later I will get up the nerve.

Thanks all for the welcome!

Hello:
I am Nancie from the beautiful hills of NW Arkansas.  I live here with my husband, 5 dogs, 9 cats and various wildlife on 15 acres.
I am less than a year into the lapidary arts.  I have a Genie, flat lap, 10" and 4"  saws.  I am primarily interested in rocks, but also do  some mediocre wrapping.
Dave, aka Hulagrub, and his lovely wife turned me on to this site.

I am not a big poster, mostly a lurker.  I hope to learn and improve here.

Thanks
