It has worked fine with no problems.

I have always had the  'need' to create...got it from my mother.  Even as a kid I would draw, paint, even built a village out of colored toothpicks.
Then I designed and made my own clothes.
I have have multiple hobbies over the years-from tie-dying to weaving to paper making to wood working to lapidary.

I never thought about it as being unusual...I thought everyone had hobbies.

I am surprised at the number of people that 'do' get it.  Most kids have picked up pretty rocks and save them at one time in their lives-so maybe that's it.
But there are some that don't understand the concept.  Try to always have a rock in my pocket to show those people and then their eyes light up...most of the time.
Afew don't grasp it, those are not worth my time.

I do something similar.
I slice the rock off the wood with my radial arm then throw it in a bucket of water for acouple of days.

of course not all end pieces will fit in the radial arm, so I use the soaking method (or a hammer and screwdriver).

I've had several say the same thing. I just tell them that they don't have to get it, or that I don't "get" how you cannot "get" it.  It's kind of like when people ask why I am building a trebuche. Does there have to be a why?

Learned a new word....and I want to see it!

I use a drafting chair that is adjustable, so I will figure out a happy medium for sitting/standing.

Bobby, I do minimize standing...although I am a young 63 (today).

Charles, that's my quandary.

I am thinking about 39" for at least part of it.
