Title: Heads and tails of local show.
Post by: NE Rocks on June 12, 2011, 07:11:46 pm
We just finished out fourth week at the Salem Saturday Market.  It was finally a decent weather day, there was a good crowd and we were ready.  End of the day, this was our worst sales day so far.  So that was the down side.  On the plus, I have been displaying my cabs, some for sale and my "rock babies" as Nadara calls them.  Yeah, the personal, not for sale items.  And a gentleman we know from our local club stopped in to visit as he had the last couple of weeks.  He set a small box on the table and asked if I wanted to make a deal.  He does his own cabs and they seem fine to me.  However, he was wanting things different and had started liking my work, especially in the non typical shapes.  He opened the box and there were several slabs of Morrisonite, a few of Willow Creek, a small chunk of Deschuttes and a nice chunk of Holly Blue.  He offered to split the cabs when I finish and gave us the Holly Blue.   So not much on the monetary front, but a great end of day result.

"Let's make a deal!"  So then, that turned out pretty awesome for you!  Too bad about the sales though!
