Title: slab to big, cure for 6 inch trim saw
Post by: 55fossil on June 29, 2015, 09:37:24 pm
My slab was wider than the table of my 8 inch saw so I just did like always. I held the slab tightly and started sawing.  Ka Wump, and many pieces of jasper and a wow in the blade.
So, I decided to fix the problem. I pulled out my 6 inch Lortone Kit saw and made an adapter plate.    So, on my six inch saw I cut a plastic riser plate so the slab rides above the edge of the saw table. One groove down the middle so the blade and water make it okay. I am sure this has been done before but here are some pictures anyway. Probably more pictures than needed but it is simpler than explaining.
PS: The plastic cost me $2 at the plastic store in there scrap bin. New blade cost......
