I will see if I can get a better picture for you all. Plus I have some slabs cut I will take a picture of that also. Sorry I am really green at all this stuff. I am still learning how to use the computer, now I will try to learn how to take pictures better. About time I got into the modern age I guess.

Here we go. this is a picture of the knife close up.  Please critique this knife, as I am still learning and would appreciate your thoughts.

Are those pre-polish ridges (very fine, hard to see) in the final polish or just the way the material polishes or perhaps evden photo artifacts? This is something I'm still ironing out myself. Setting up to try wet-dry sandpaper lapping (feathering disc adhesive still stuck to my fingers) atop a foam pad covered master lap wheel - if that doesn't pan out I'll try the next idea on the list.

Anyway that's a beautiful handle!  yes

I've got some of that fossil coral like your last image - mine has 5 walled cells though I believe. Never worked with it though - saving it for a rainy day  driving

Update: Dan, I must apologize, I forget that it doesn't still say "Newbie" above my head. Clearly those aren't even polished via the same method I'm learning and on closer look I'm seeing something entirely different (like, an awesome polish). I hope I didn't offend you - those are outstanding! (insert the 'extended shaking hand' emoticon)  yes
