I have a split nut on my 24 inch and sometimes it works  and others doesnt. Have used c clamp but not happy. Does the clothes pin on top of clothespin realy drive  well and is it realy just wood on the threaded rod ?   Hummm ideas are ow realy running wild !

Yes Dicky, the cloths pins are the only thing on the threaded rod driving the auto-feed.  I was skeptical myself but it works great - slow and steady.  I'm guessing that it would clutch out with excessive resistance.
