Thank you all  hugs32

Kinda like started out as Joan Jett and ended up as Lady Gaga.

No idea who this Joan is, but funny you should mention Gaga right now as since two days there are tickets available for a couple of shows in May this year and people have gone absolutely "gaga" about it. Fighting for places in waiting lines to get to ticket-boots (we got 20 arrests thus far) and scalpers asking 4 x the issued price. We got pictures of old ladies in the paper this morning who have been hired to wait in line (4US$ per hour) and the record seems, at the time of the interview, was 42 hrs.  toilet hairy1

Joan Jett - remember a song that went, "I love rock and roll, put another dime in the juke box baby!" ? That's Joan Jett - and she still looks delicious after all these years - mmmm!

No you could never mess up. You create such lovely designs.
What I meant was Joan Jett who is a good looking woman and a rock and roller and interesting in her own right is where the stone was before you started carving then as you changed the whole appearance of the stone and add a little of this and a little of that the stone turned into Lady Gaga:)
They say a picture is worth a thousand words....... they are both ladies, they are both in leather but Lady Gaga uses a litttle more to get a lot more:) Thats the way I feel about carved gemstones:)

Hi there, just came home and found that Helens part of a trade is already here, so instead of waiting for better weather to get appropriate pictures, I gotta hurry to get her piece into the mail too. Can’t show what she send me yet, as I will not open until she confirms receipt of my part. LOL

The timing is near perfect as my subject here is Yin and Yang and this is my 2222nd. post. The number two represents balance, repetition and continuance as well as opposites pending on different regions in Chinese language, so for this to be posted on this number fits perfectly with the theme.

I started out with a simple egg-shaped solid orb on top to get a feel for the color, before the trade with Hellen fell into place. Hellens glass-work, to me, is everything about balance, so the idea was getting opposites into balance. Started playing with the idea of X and Y’s in the sense of chromosomes. This lead to an opposing hollow orb on the other end. This time I got lucky and the Orb held out. By then the overall shape (with the banding) gave me the idea to reinforce the sides to represent male/female too, so I hollowed out the whole center part from the side.

It can be worn by inserting a pin through the hollow orb from the top and affixing a bail, so it could freely roll horizontally (Which is my suggestion if the wearer is female). Hellen though, choose “Balance”, So the chain/cord goes through the body and rests on its shoulders allowing it to rotate freely in vertical motion. The ends are heavy enough, so if you want either of the ends on top you put it there and it will stay there. You would have to be pretty active, to have it switch by itself, despite it hanging unhindered.

Final seize : 16 x 40 mm

It has a nice solid color, green with indoor lighting, and slightly bluish in white light (the yellow tiger eye has been either completely absorbed or has changed to green). It has a nice chatoyance that covers most of the stone in a rather subtle manner and is not screaming into your face. Unfortunately, the pictures I took over the past few days do not do it justice.
This picture gives you the closest color to the real thing at hand (most lighting)

Thanks for looking, next up is something I got on mind since a couple of weeks.
A play on the words “Heavy Metal” or “Hard Rock” LOL
