Fantastic Steve, just Fantastic.
Love it. WOW!

Did you cast the main pendant and earring pieces or are they pierced out?

All three pieces were hand cut with a jeweler's saw and a size 0000 saw blade...................

Looks great.

I think Sara's question was  asked because the Mayas used Onyx virtually from the beginning for its said use to further psychic abilities. Where as the  material was not used in Egypt until the Ptolemaic period, when Greek  influence took hold.

Nice picture though; with the Eye representing the underworld (death) and the onyx often exclusively used for scarabs, hence re-birth.

Kurt & Sara.........Black Onyx was used because my friend said his wife really loves it and she had previously commented on a necklace I did of the Ra symbol.

I have done this particular design several time prior to this one and I use Lapis Lazuli for the beads and Moonstone for the eyes and all Carnelian for the Ra set....................

The reason I asped......
I look at so many designs and I was too lazy to search further Steve and it was easier just to ask:)
It is a most beautiful piece and I think it would look excellent in many stones:)

Steve, this one is carnelian?  I know carnelian is a very inexpensive material, but I love it.  Just learning how to purchase the material, many times the color is only on the outside shell and the inner part is colorless.  Iv'e been zapped many times trying to buy some on e-bay and gem shows by the inexperienced eye.

For some reason or another since I returned from vacation I've had three ring orders.................unusual for me.......... Well here they are...............

1.  This customer wanted a simply designed Dino Bone.........

2.  This customer wanted a minty piece of Malachite accented with two Rose Quartz................

3.  This customer jumped on one of the high domed Amazonite rectangles I had cut and polished.............

Now maybe I can get back to working stones for the coming winter.............  hide
