Steve,

I noticed how clean the back of your prong setting is. Others I have seen have a bump in the middle where the wires cross. Yours is flush. Did you solder each side individually instead of crossing the wires?

Steve you are a perfectionist, EXCELLENT prong setting. Patience Patience Patience of which I have little of. Did you really solder each prong seperately......??????? WOW, it looks great.

Yes the prongs were soldered in as pairs - the setting consists of 5 pieces................

OH Man!  You may have just solved a dilemma for me.  I have an order for 2 jade crosses and figuring out how to set them has been driving me crazy!  I had forgotten about the wire prong mounts I had seen here.  That may just work!

Steve I LOVE the repoussed broaches. gorgeous!  yes

Grteat stuff as usual Steve. What did you do for the great heavy texture on the tri. frame? Solder down some filings? Paste solder/flux & filings?

I really like the first one for its frame. Somehow it jumps out!
The second is neat too, as it has all those contrasting textures and colors.

Excellent job there yet again. yes hatsoff

Pretty much there Mike, you've got it.  I save the silver saw dust from my saw work.  I laid out the bezel and the frame then pickled it.  Next. I paste fluxed the open areas and put in a layer of Super Easy solder.  Pickled it again, then kinda heavily fluxed again  then sprinkled the saw dust on it and torched it until the solder flowed

Love them both Steve but the red agate setting is very neat.
I think I will try that method.
Great work

Outstanding work Steve.  yes   The triangle wire with the filings is a great idea for texture. Where did you learn repousse at? Self taught or class?
