Thanks for the pics Bob.

That Sandy Mesa agate looks interesting. What sort of price did they have on it?

OK I'll jump...
Those pink quartz crystals are to damned PERFECT to be natural.  It looks like that man made glass material on the market they are calling "Cherry Quartz."  Maybe he thinks they are natural because the person he got them from was dishonest and said they were natural.  However I'd be willing to place money on those being man-made.

Oh Please tell me those nasty looking pinkie-purple colored things in front of him in the picture he wasn't trying to hawk as natural either...They look like...Oh Nevermind my sick mind is coming through again...

I love the Apache Jasper though.  That is some sweet stuff!   yes

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, it's got me wondering!  I might have said it's possible?!  But when I saw the next picture with the hairy fella standing next to those pink coconut covered mushrooms I kinda had my doubts.  However I do have a tumbled piece of quartz with that same general look to it.  It is with a bunch of other pretty tumbled stones that were given to me that are definitely dyed.  Those are some nice looking slabs & it looks like a nice relaxed, place to be, albeit hot & in a cow pasture.  I would have had a great time there.

I really like the first two photos with the trays of cool agates! Looks like some real stunners in there.

That Apache jasper is nice, but at those prices it looks like I will not be adding any to my collection anytime soon.

Those 'quartz' points are glass, according to several online sellers.

If Cherry Quartz is a man made product, then how can it be so good for this, "Cherry Quartz is great for healing emotional wounds and getting in touch with your true emotions.", I didn't know any man made crystal was good for that unless it was Valium, now that  makes me get in touch with my "real" emotions, real mellow. dancer5

Great pictures!  Wish we were closer to that show!

2nd photo down - those slabs in the center, I'm pretty sure, are Wingate Pass Plume Agate from Death Valley.  Should have been on Mark's post about rare material.   Beautiful, hard to find material.  But there have been a few pieces on eBay auctions recently.

The new stuff from the Cady Mountains ... wow!  Didn't know it had a fancy name - Sandy Mesa Agate?   A friend dug several awesome pieces recently from out there that look like this same material, and he has cut a few gorgeous cabs from it so far.  We have a small batch we just sliced, and have sold a couple pieces so far.  As for Kurt's comment ...

we'll have to see if these are like that as well!  Hope not - it really is pretty stuff!
