Water and belts

I am using chargable belts on my exspanding wheels. The diamonds require an extender fluid, I have been using water also, is there a problem with that?

The water could wash the diamond out.  The extender won't.  The Rez Belts are best used only with polish mesh diamond and not on heat sensitive stones.
