Hello. We just took delivery of a new bull wheel. The seller called it a Richardson's Polisher. It has 12" pulley and pad so it should run about 144 RPM at the outside edge of the pad. Running off a 1" pulley on the 1725 RPM motor. Now we just need to find space to set it up...!

Its a great machine. I modeled my carpet wheel machine after this design. I domed my wheel so I can polish the center of my big cabs and slabs with it and of course I installed a piece of low knap carpet over the leather pad.

Yeah, I remember that thread. That's why we've wanted something like this ever since. We're thinking of going to the Tandy Leather shop here to see what they have we might use to make a couple more leathers we could use with various compounds. That carpet on yours sure works great though, so that might be the way to go instead. Being able to switch between alumina, cerium, tin, etc., depending on the stone is what we're thinking.

Our club has one, and it works great! I would like to find one too, so I can polish at home, and switch polishing cpds (we only have 1 leather pad with cerium).

Here is the link to where we purchased the polisher.  They were very quick and responsive -- it was a pleasure dealing with them.  They restore old saws and equipment and then sell them.  Their prices are very reasonable (I think).  They have an on deck page of equipment they're working on that will be up for sale in the near future along with what's currently available on another page.

Exactly what I need to put togeather.  Excellent buy.

I have the motor, the two pulleys, 1" and 12".  The spin on domed buffing wheel.  Just need a place to put it and some time to put it togeather.
