Made a flying trip to Shreveport and picked up this Covington 16" saw Saturday.
Fits quite nicely in the corner I have been saving for it!

Nice piece of equipment Mia.  It looks like it was brand new. ?? How far was it round trip?

It is 'like new' he hardly used it at all.   600 miles roughly, made for a long day, but was worth it!

Congrats on your new saw Mia. I see some nice refinements on yours as compared to my Lortone. My but you have a rather clean and tidy work area with heaps of room. It's closing in though........ yippie

Yeah, after I posted that I thought " Final? No wait, I need a big tumbler and another trim saw and ...."   omg
And, Yeah it's closing in, could have been larger, but it's what I could afford.

No matter how big a work area you have you eventually need more room.

Great Saw!  I have a 14" Covington but its not nearly as pretty as yours, its all covered with oil and sludge and wants a bath and oil job.

One thing about the vise on the Covingtons.  Its really easy to over tighten it to the point of bending the vise screw.  I have bent 2 or 3 screws and stripped the handles off several times.  The guy at Covington finally started putting 3 set screws on the handle for me so i wouldn't strip it off anymore.  The people at Covington are great and you can usually get to talk to the guy that works on them, just about anytime you call.  I almost get the impression that there are only 2 people there, the woman who answers the phone and takes orders, and the guy who works on the saws.

Congrats on a great saw.

Ohhhhh  I don't know.... so many choices!   Probably a nice big agate!

Mark thanks for the tips about Covington.  I Probably wont be stripping out any screws, but it's good to know so I can warn any 'Male' rock cutters!  8>) (not to over tighten).    I already sent Covington an email about getting a copy of the owners manual and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they replied.  They are sending me  one via snail mail.
