As I just started my lapidary hobby I don't own any tools yet, but I did take some pics of the shop at the club I am a member of.

Real nice setup.  Do you work at the shop much?  Pay dues?

That sure is a nice looking setup they have there. That chop saw looks kind of scary but I guess it's safe. I had a big cop saw for my steel work but the blade was mounted right on the motor and one day the blade just flew apart, scared the pee right out of me! hide I then went to an old fashioned power hack saw. I see they have a flat lap thingy, how does that work for you? Lots of bench grinders all in a row, cheek by jowl, get to know your neighbor real quick and ask lots of questions if you're a novice. I guess you get to have lots of fun and not spend a ton of money on equipment all at once. ura

You are lucky llama:) Our club has some equipment in one of the member's basement but it is never convenient to go use any of it.
Nice set up and hope to see some of your rock collection soon.

It's the Eastern Indiana Gem and Geological Society.
I'm at the club house twice a week at least. More if there is anybody else going to be there for a while. I haven't had the chance to use the flat lap, but there is a member there who makes some nice obelisks of different materials and it seems like a good use for it. I might have to split some geodes and polish halves on there here soon to get the feel of it.
