Along the Theme of Tortuga's "Look what I found today".... toofunny12  a Gem-Tec Supreme.

I bought this on Ebay,  Not quite a Genie.  But my understanding is that Diamond Pacific used to be Gem-Tec..  It is in excellent conditon, even has the original owners manual and Original Tiara and LustrBond wheels.  And I paid $300 less than the cheapest Genie I have seen sell in the last 6 weeks.  As a matter of fact, noone else even bid on it.  I don't think anyone knew what it was.   So someone jump in and burst my bubble here.  But I am tickled pink!

Thanks everyone.....  Now a question  help

The machine has a variable speed control knob with a top speed of 1900 rpm. The little instruction manual says to run the 80  and 220 grit Tiara wheels at 1400 to 1500 rpm.   And to run the 400 grit wheel at 50% speed which would be around 900 to 1000 rpm.   I am "assuming" these wheels are similar to the Galaxy and Nova wheels of the Genie.  Do these speeds sound correct?  AND what speed would you run the subsequent 800, 1500 and 3000 grit wheels?  It doesn't say.

thanks

Mia, our Genie has one speed - fast. I think whatever you are comfortable with, is the way to go. You did great on the Genie, last spring, experiment, and remember the coarser grit wheels cut faster.

OK  here goes....  I had these preforms roughed out already.  So I just went with them.  3 of the 4 are slabettes I got at our club spring show.  The Turquoise came from my trip to Nevada.   I know they are not perfect  hairy1  and the macro photos sure show up any imperfections!  But HEY!  I got the machine dirty!

Striped Jasper or Jasp/agate?
