For some reason I can't get the photo to show up any larger than a postage stamp?

Nice place!

Since you mention it being in Sun City, I take it that it is not in your home but rather a commercial enterprise somewhere on the "reservation"?  (I live in Sun City, Texas).

You live in the Del Webb community, neighbor?

Sun City has 4 lapidary shops that are managed by the recreational centers and clubs.  If you live in Sun City, you can join one of these clubs for only $10.00 to $20.00 per year!  We are so excited!

That hasn't changed at all from my memory of going there to visit my mom and dad 20 years ago. I still have my dad's Lapidary Shop Monitor badge from those times. In fact I am still working on using up the used 18" saw blades that Dad salvaged from the shop. It seems that some people told him to change the blades because the saw was cutting too slow. He tried to tell them that there was more life in them but they insisted that he change them anyway! They had a lot of money available to run the shop, obviously. I'm about to the point that I have to buy a new blade soon.

That's one of the very few clubs/facilities we don't have here.  Of course, we only have about 1/10th the number of people that you do.  Not only that but, although there is a rock club, it is small and (naturally) has only old people who are members.  Finally, I live in a barren region (central TX) as far as decent rocks are concerned, so there isn't the interest here that there is in other areas like my favorite state or Oregon.

Wow! That place is CLEAN! My local club has three separate rooms with lots and lots of machinery, but is really dirty. It makes me wonder who's cleaning up?
